Math teacher Scott Rowe works with numbers all day — but there are two that annoy him.
“I still hear six, seven from my freshmen,” he said, noting he hears the phrase a lot and has no idea what it means.
Freshman, Saron Zewdu, says that the slang word she says the most is “six, seven.”
This phrase is very popular right now.
Sophomore, Sarija Vanderpol who goes by Sj, says that she also says “six, seven” the most too.
Another slang word that kids use a lot is sus. SJ said sus means, “Moving weird, acting funny, and being interesting…”
Sj added that a “low taper fade” is a hair cut.
Kids also give different meanings to slang words.
Freshman, Gadiel Anguloromero says that sus means “looking at someone for a long time.”
Gadiel says that a low taper fade means massive.
Freshman, Christian Prieto said that his favorite slang word is “sup.” He describes being sus as being weird. Christian also thinks that a low taper fade is a hair cut.
Just as soon as some words quickly become popular, they lose their trendiness just as rapidly.
Saron said if she could get rid of any slang word it would be “six, seven because it’s over-used and sometimes it’s not funny.”
